Interstate I-35W Background

Interstate (I)-35W is the main north-south corridor through the cities of Fort Worth, Everman, Crowley and Burleson in Tarrant and Johnson counties.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Tarrant County was ranked as the fifth fastest growing county in the U. S. between 2016 and 2017. This growth is the catalyst for the need to expand the existing transportation infrastructure.

Proposed Benefits

The TxDOT Fort Worth District is conducting a corridor study of I-35W between I-20 and SH 174 to develop proposed improvements that would increase capacity, improve safety and mobility and ease congestion in this area.
