No. The Bryan-College Station Metropolitan Planning Organization (BCS MPO) consulted with a firm to study the possibility of relocating the UPRR through the community. That option was rejected when a consensus on an acceptable route could not be reached.Therefore, the railroad will remain in place. |
The proposed design improves capacity with less new land required than other alternative designs. The new land to be acquired for the interchange is shown on the project layout. |
Currently, trains, vehicles and pedestrians all share use of the intersection. Under the planned design, all modes of travel will be separated by bridges. |
