PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that FM 409 in Fannin County will be closed for culvert replacement work beginning Oct. 28.

This work should be completed in November, weather permitting, but in the meantime travelers are asked to use alternate routes or follow the detour that will be in place. FM 409 intersects FM 2029 about 1.5 miles south of Telephone, Texas, and runs eastward through Caddo National Grassland to FM 100.

Highway 19 Construction LLC, Sulphur Springs, Texas, is the contractor for this roadway improvement project valued at more than $112,000.

Motorists are also advised to remain alert and pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
