PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that work begins this week on a ramp reversal project on US 75 at FM 1417 in Sherman, Texas.
Contractor Ed Bell Construction Company, Dallas, Texas, was granted 149 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project valued at more than $2.3 million. The project will extend from the intersection of FM 1417 and US 75 to approximately 1.1 miles south of this intersection, officials said.
The contractor’s crews will reverse the northbound entrance ramps and exit ramps at this intersection, to improve the safety of access and egress on US 75 for the traveling public. The contractor began setting construction barricades and signs on Dec. 4. The target date for completion of this project is July 2019, officials said.
Motorists who regularly travel in this area may at times encounter temporary lane and shoulder closures while this work is underway. They are asked to pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach and travel cautiously through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
