PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that crack seal maintenance work has been slated to begin Oct. 9 on several roadways in Grayson and Fannin Counties.

D&M Contractors, Van, Texas, was granted 46 working days to complete this maintenance work valued at more than $249,000. The contractor anticipates completing the work by the end of October 2017, weather permitting, officials said.

The contractor will clean existing pavement and apply a hot-pour crack seal asphaltic pavement to several roads in both counties. Affected roads in Grayson County include US 69, US 82, State Highways 289 and 56, FM 120 and all roads and parking lots inside Eisenhower State Park. Affected roads in Fannin County include State Highways 56 and 34, and multiple farm-to-market roads.

TxDOT officials said the project will require some temporary lane closures at times, as well as flagging operations to direct traffic. Motorists who encounter this work while driving are asked to pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
