PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that guardrail upgrades will be installed along portions of three roadways in Hunt County beginning July 15.
Contractor East Texas Bridge was granted 59 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project valued at more than $540,000. The contractor anticipates setting construction barricades on July 8 and beginning work on July 15, officials said.
Guardrail upgrades will be installed along I-30, from FM 499 to the Hopkins County line; US 380, from CR 1158 to BU 380j; and US 69, from one mile north of CR 1040 to CR 1040. The contractor will used phased construction to maintain eastbound and westbound traffic movement and to minimize temporary lane closures.
Motorists who regularly travel in these areas in Hunt County are asked to pay special attention to all signs, barricades, and traffic controls and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
