PARIS – TxDOT officials today announced that culvert and drainage work along a portion of State Highway 289 in Pottsboro, Texas, will begin on June 20.
Highway 19 Construction LLC was awarded the contract for this project valued at more than $200,000. The contractor plans to begin erecting barricades on June 16, and the target date for completion is August 2018, weather permitting.
The contractor will replace culverts and improve drainage on SH 289 from Meadowbrook Drive to Fountain Creek Boulevard in Pottsboro, Texas, officials said. The culvert replacement work will require a full road closure for about five days. Message boards will be placed along the route one week in advance to alert the public, and a signed detour will direct traffic around the closure.
Temporary lane closures will be necessary at times while the drainage work is underway, and flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic when closures occur, officials said.
Motorists who travel through this area are asked to pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach and travel cautiously through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
