PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that a project to improve drainage on a portion of FM 121 in Van Alstyne, Texas, in Grayson County, will begin June 11.
The contractor, Beck-Reit & Sons LTD, Austin, Texas, was granted 30 working days to complete this project valued at more than $192,000. The contractor anticipates an August 15 completion date, weather permitting, officials said.
Contractor crews will add parallel drainage structures at various locations on FM 121 between Moody Lane and Lincoln Park Road, officials noted. Temporary lane closures with flaggers directing traffic will be necessary at times while this work is underway.
Motorists who travel through this area are asked to pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach and travel cautiously through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
