PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that concrete repairs along Interstate Highway 30 in Hopkins County are slated to begin the week of April 23.
Winding Road Construction Inc., Big Fork, Minn., was awarded the year-long maintenance contract for this work valued at more than $1.5 million. Officials said the contractor will work on an as-needed basis.
Contractor crews will perform spot concrete repairs in both east- and west-bound lanes of I-30 during daylight hours, from Monday through Thursday. No work will be scheduled or performed on Fridays, officials said.
The contractor will begin work the week of April 23 at the Hopkins-Franklin County line and move westward along the highway to its intersection with FM 499. This work will occasionally require temporary lane closures.
Wherever possible, motorists are encouraged to use alternate travel routes while this work is underway. They are also advised to pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach and travel cautiously through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
