PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that a public meeting is set for 6 to 8 p.m. April 25 at the Student Center Ballroom on the campus of Paris Junior College to gather public input on proposed improvements to State Loop 286 surrounding Paris, Texas.

This public meeting will follow an open house format, so those who attend can come and go at their convenience. TxDOT staff will be available to answer questions about the improvements proposed for this 15.5 mile stretch of roadway.

A recent study of Loop 286 analyzed several potential roadway improvements. These improvements could require additional right of way, and other changes. Study data and maps showing proposed roadway alignment options will be available for viewing at this public meeting. TxDOT would like to get input from all interested parties and stakeholders about the further development of this important thoroughfare in Lamar County.

TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be conducted in English, but requests can be made for an interpreter or other special communication accommodations. If additional assistance is required please call (903) 737-9213 at least five working days prior to the meeting. Advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time to arrange, TxDOT officials said.

Comments pertaining to this project must be received by Friday, May 10, 2019, in order to be part of the official record. Questions pertaining to this specific project can be addressed by calling the project manager at (903) 737-9282.
