PARIS – TxDOT officials today announced that a project to install flashing LED chevron signs on several roads in Fannin and Grayson Counties will begin April 13, 2020.

Marcom’s Mowing Service in Aubrey, Texas, was awarded 60 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project which is valued at more than $172,000.

The contractor will install flashing LED chevron signs at these locations in Fannin County: US 69 from .24 miles south of CR 5070 to .3 miles north of CR 5070, SH 78 from .3 miles south of FM 1629 to .3 miles north of FM 1629 and FM 271 from .2 miles west of CR 3100 to .2 miles east of CR 3100.

Chevrons will also be installed in Grayson County on FM 901 from .24 miles south of Maverick Drive to .08 miles north of Maverick Drive.

This project will require the contractor to use occasional temporary shoulder and lane closures while the work is underway, officials said. Flaggers will direct traffic at those times.

Motorists who frequently travel in these areas are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls and signs and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking or car audio or navigation systems.
