PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that a project to widen and improve FM 121 in Grayson County will begin the week of April 6.

Contractor Mario Sinacola & Sons Excavating Inc., Frisco, Texas, was granted 373 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project valued at more than $13.6 million. The target completion date for this project is Oct. 2021, officials said.

The contractor will widen and improve the existing roadway from west of FM 3356 to Jim Jones Road. Crews will perform earthwork, install stabilized subgrade and cross structures, replace bridges and lay new concrete pavement. They will also install new pavement markings and signs as well as seed new vegetation along the roadway.

Occasional temporary lane closures will be present while this construction project is underway, officials said.

Motorists who frequently travel in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls and signs and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking or car audio or navigation systems.
