PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials announced today that the BUS 271 ramp in Paris will be closed for scheduled maintenance and slope repairs during daytime hours beginning March 20.

They advised motorists who frequently travel this route to use alternate routes while repairs to the ramp are being made. Officials anticipate the repairs will be completed by the end of March.

The BUS 271 ramp connects Southeast Loop 286 to eastern Clarksville Street in Paris, not far from where the Northeast Texas Trail crosses the Loop.

Motorists should always remain alert and pay special attention to signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach and travel around work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
