PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials announced today that work to rehabilitate and improve FM 1753 in Fannin County will begin Feb. 25.
Contractor DL Lennon, Commerce, Texas, was granted 310 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project valued at more than $8.6 million. The target completion date for this project is May 2021, officials said.
The contractor will widen and rehab FM 1753 from its intersection with FM 1897 south of Ambrose, Texas, eastward to its intersection with State Highway 78 north of Bonham, Texas. During construction a portion of the roadway will be closed to allow crews to replace some cross drainage structures. Message boards will alert motorists before the closure occurs.
At other times, flaggers will be present to direct traffic when temporary lane closures are needed, officials said.
Motorists who regularly travel in this area are asked to pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach and travel cautiously through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
