PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that work to improve portions of US 82 and US 69 in Grayson County will begin on Feb. 4.
The contractor, SJ&J Construction, Dallas, Texas, was granted 325 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project valued at more than $3.4 million, TxDOT officials said.
The contractor will upgrade guardrails and add sloped end treatments to drainage structures on US 82 from FM 131 to FM 1897, and on US 69 from State Highway 56 to US 75. The contractor anticipates completing this project in November 2020, officials said.
Temporary lane closures will occasionally be necessary in these areas while this work is underway. When closures are necessary, traffic will be guided by flaggers.
Motorists are asked to pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach and travel cautiously through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
