PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that work to install pedestrian sidewalks and curb ramps on a portion of South Church Street in Quinlan, Texas, will begin Jan. 22.

The contractor, Highway 19 Construction, was granted 72 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project valued at more than $167,000. The contractor anticipates setting work barricades on Jan. 20 and starting the project Jan. 22, officials said.

Contractor crews will install pedestrian sidewalks with curb ramps on South Church Street, from its intersection with East Main Street southward to DC Cannon Elementary School at the intersection of State Spur 264 and Meyers Avenue.

Motorists and others who travel frequently in this area are advised to remain alert and pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach and travel through any work zone. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
