MARTIN COUNTY – A project to resurface 33 miles of Highway 349 throughout Martin County is scheduled to start Monday, Oct. 7, 2019.

The work should have minimal impact on traffic. Lane closures will be kept at a minimum. Traffic will be kept flowing in both directions throughout the duration of the project.

Work is beginning on the north end of the project at the Dawson County line. The project also has provisions for pavement repairs, so that work may be taking place in other parts of the project.

The speed limit in the work zones will be reduced to 65 miles per hour.

Jones Brothers Dirt & Paving of Odessa won the job with a low bid of $17.6 million.
