A project to address pavement repairs at multiple locations in the 12-county Odessa District is set to begin July 9.
The most important feature of the $3.7 million contract is realignment of the intersection at Highway 302 and Highway 115 just west of Kermit. Modifying the islands to accommodate an all-way stop will increase safety and operational effectiveness of the intersection.
The intersection work will begin the week of July 9 and take about three weeks to complete.
Motorists are reminded that state law requires them to obey warning signs, flaggers and pilot cars in the work zone. Motorists are asked to exercise extreme caution and patience while driving through the work zone. The driving behavior of the traveling public is key to the safety of the workers and their own safety while driving through work zones.
The project also calls for pavement resurfacing in another dozen locations. The work will be done over the next few months. Other than the Winkler County intersection, each location should only take a few days each to complete. Those locations include:
