WARD COUNTY – A project to install traffic signals begins the week of April 30, 2018, at the intersection of Business Interstate 20 and Loop 464. The intersection serves both Monahans and Thorntonville.

The intersection will be made a four-way stop on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

In addition to the traffic signal, a left turn lane will be added in both directions on Business Interstate 20, which is also known locally as Sealy Avenue.

The speed limit in the work zone will be 45 miles per hour. Motorists are reminded that state law requires them to obey any warning signs and any flaggers encountered in the work zone.

The project is scheduled to be completed in Fall 2018.

Willis Electric of Abilene won the job with a low bid of $562,624.
