Work is scheduled to begin to replace four bridges in Polk County which will require a road closure beginning next week.

Crews have set barricades and have begun preliminary work on Segno Fire Lane at the tributary of Big Sandy Creek. Right of way is currently being cleared, but beginning on Nov. 18, 2019, the road will be closed to traffic.

This bridge replacement is part of a construction project designed to replace several bridges at locations including on Nettle Cemetery Road at Beach Creek, Segno Fire Lane at Double Branch and County Line Road at Hickory Creek.

Once work on Segno Fire Lane at Big Sandy Creek Tributary is completed, crews will begin work on the bridge at Double Branch on Segno Fire Lane. The road will be closed to traffic until work is completed. Longview Bridge and Road, Longview, TX, will serve as contractor for the $1.7 million project.

As this project begins, motorists are urged to be aware of workers and moving equipment near the work zones. Obey all traffic control and choose alternate routes as work progresses.
