A pre-construction meeting was held recently in the Livingston Area Office signaling the beginning of a new construction project in Polk County.

Work is scheduled to begin in coming days within the Lake Livingston State Park to rehabilitate and reconstruct the park roads, parking lots and campsite pullouts in the Pin Oak and Hercules camping areas. As work progresses, campsites and roadways in the construction areas will be closed to traffic.

Drewery Construction, Inc., Nacogdoches, TX, will serve as contractor for the $1.9 million project that is scheduled to be completed in early 2020, weather permitting. As this construction begins, motorists are urged to stay alert to equipment and workers in the area. Reduce speed near the work zones and prepare for possible delays.
