Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday on a busy roadway and a bridge/flyover in Lufkin that will require closures.

The US 59 Southbound overpass/flyover is scheduled to be closed overnight on Wednesday and Thursday from 9 pm - 6 am as crews perform preventative maintenance. The maintenance includes joint sealing on the flyover bridge. Work is expected to be completed by Friday morning.

Crews will also begin work Wednesday morning on Business 69 South/Chestnut Drive between Denman Avenue and Timberland Drive.  A mill and inlay project on SH 103 West at SL 287 and on US 69 at SL 287 will require alternate lane closures. Work is expected to be completed within two weeks, weather permitting.

Motorists should reduce speed and obey all signage through these work zones. Stay alert for workers, moving equipment and detours that will be in place throughout the work areas.
