Texas Transportation Commissioners on Thursday approved more than $433.9 million for new construction projects statewide, with more than $6.9 million approved for projects in the Lufkin District.
Nacogdoches County was approved for a $3.3 million construction project on US 259 that is designed to resurface the roadway. Work will include planing the surface, applying a one-course surface treatment and placing a porous friction course (PFC) surface. Drewery Construction Co., Inc., Nacogdoches, TX, will serve as contractor for the project that will include limits from the Rusk County line to SH 204. A timeline for completion has not been set.
Polk County was approved for a $3.6 million construction project on US 59 that is also designed to resurface the roadway with a PFC application. Moore Brothers Construction Co., Lufkin, TX, will serve as contractor for the project that will include limits from just south of US 287 in Corrigan to Moscow. No timeline for completion has been set.
