A pre-construction meeting was held last week in Houston County signaling a new construction project scheduled to begin in February.
The work is scheduled on FM 2781 and will include reconstructing and widening the existing pavement from the Trinity County line to FM 1280 and from US 287 to the Houston County line. Pinto Construction, Nacogdoches, TX, will serve as contractor for the $1 million construction project.
Crews will be placing barricades with work expected to begin by Feb. 11 and the project is expected to be completed by June, weather permitting. As work begins, motorists are urged to stay alert, reduce speed and be aware of workers and moving equipment through the work zone. As the project progresses, motorists should expect intermittent lane closures and delays.
