Temporary traffic control signals have been activated at two locations within a TxDOT work zone in Houston County.
The signals will remain operational for up to three months at Big Creek and at an unnamed tributary within a construction project work zone on SH 21, west of Crockett. Drewery Construction, contractor for the ongoing work will be constructing deep base stabilization at the narrow westbound bridge approaches. The project is designed to reconstruct the pavement from 2.3 miles east of FM 2967 to SH 7.
Motorists should be prepared to stop, reduce speed through this work zone and prepare for possible delays as work continues. This is an active TxDOT work zone. Pay close attention to the posted work zone speed limit and to any flashing advisory speed zones as operations change. Motorists should be alert to workers and moving equipment. Traffic fines double while workers are present.
