National Tourism Week starts Sunday and to celebrate, the Texas Travel Information Center in Anthony, TX, will have a mini travel fair for the public Monday, May 7, from 10 a.m. - noon. The center, located at 8799 S. Desert Blvd., will have several partners on hand to get everyone ready for the upcoming travel season.

Tourism partners from throughout the city will be setting up information tables, along with travel information for the entire state of Texas. People are invited to come out to start planning their summer vacation for Texas and/or get ideas for things you can do locally.

Some of the participating tourism partners include: Concordia Cemetery, Harvey Girls, Keystone Heritage Park, Visit El Paso, Border Patrol Museum, Chamizal National Memorial, and Flags Across America.

Extended Hours

Due to the busy summer travel season ahead, the Travel Information Center in Anthony will be extending their hours. Starting Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, the center will be open 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., 7 days a week.

Texas Travel Information Centers are staffed by professional travel counselors who welcome visitors to Texas, help with routings, and provide information on points of interest, events and road conditions. Visitors will also find rest areas with restrooms, picnic tables, and "Welcome to Texas" photo opportunities. The center is also a great resource for local residents seeking to explore other parts of the state.

Details on each Travel Information Center are available online.
