Date: March 16, 2018

IRVING – Weather permitting, the SH 114 eastbound frontage road from Loop 12 to Spur 482 will close March 20 at 7 p.m. This will also necessitate the closure of the exit from eastbound SH 114 to westbound SH 183. These closures will last for the duration of the project, approximately one year.

Traffic headed east on the frontage road wanting to access westbound SH 183 can turn south on the Loop 12 frontage road before the closure to enter westbound SH 183 prior to Carl Road.

For traffic already on the eastbound frontage road wanting to access eastbound SH 114, go north on Loop 12, east on Spur 348, south on Spur 482 to eastbound SH 114.

There will also be a series of single lane closures on the mainlanes of SH 114 during these operations this week beginning Monday.

Detours will be marked.

These closures are necessary to construct the Irving Signature Bridge over SH 114 at Texas Plaza. The bridge will connect to a future development at the former stadium site. This is the first phase of construction for the $40 million project. The state-of-the-art bridge will include an aesthetic package funded by the city of Irving. The bridge is funded by state and federal funds.

The project is estimated to be substantially complete in late summer of 2019.

Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes. TxDOT appreciates your patience while improvements are made to this important thoroughfare. Please remember these closures are subject to change and are weather dependent.
