CHILDRESS – TxDOT will begin a project on July 30 to widen and realign a portion of FM 94 in Motley County. The project will begin at the Middle Pease River northeast to 7.357 miles south of Northfield for a distance of 9.818 miles.

This portion of FM 94 will be widened with some sections being realigned. According to Matt Herbstritt, Childress Area Engineer, “TxDOT is realigning portions of FM 94 to update the corridor to current design standards.”

FM 94 will be closed for the duration of this project, with local traffic only allowed to use the contractor work road. The official signed detour for the traveling public is from US 83 to US 62/70 to Paducah, and US 70 from Paducah to Matador.

Gilvin-Terrell Ltd. of Amarillo is the contractor for this $7.5 million project. Weather permitting, this project will be complete in 13 months or July 2019.
