CHILDRESS – TxDOT will begin a project soon to improve the ride surface on both the divided sections and undivided sections of US 287 in Memphis. This project begins at the Donley County line south for 1.6 miles, and ends at the beginning of the concrete pavement in the city of Memphis.

Beginning the first week in April, contractor J. Lee Milligan will mill the existing pavement and fill with an asphaltic concrete pavement overlay. This $1.2 million project will require daily lane closures with some city streets being closed during paving operations.

Weather permitting, this project should be complete in three months.
