This project will include widening the subgrade, construction of an additional lane, and surfacing of the roadway.
Texas Department of Public Safety has awarded the $2,449,573.59 project to Allen Keller Company of Fredericksburg, Texas. It is anticipated that, weather permitting, the project will be completed in the summer of 2019. Projects of this nature are designed to enhance the safety of the traveling public.
The speed limit in the work zone will be lowered to 60 mph for the safety of motorists and work crews. TxDOT asks motorists to be alert, follow all traffic signs, and adjust speed with any new traffic pattern during construction.
Safety is a top priority at TxDOT, and the foundation for the agency’s planning, building and maintaining of projects across the state. When driving through a work zone, some simple steps to take are: slow down, pay attention, avoid distractions such as cell phones, be patient, and plan ahead.
TxDOT appreciates the patience of motorists and encourages attention to all warning signs within the construction work zone while crews work diligently to complete this work as quickly and as safely as possible.
