TxDOT to Host Open Houses for SH 21 from SH 80 to SH 71 Roadway Improvements

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Transportation will host identical open houses to discuss the proposed improvements to SH 21 from SH 80 to SH 71 on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Simon Middle School Cafeteria, located at 3839 FM 150 in Kyle, and on Thursday, Jan. 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Cedar Creek Middle School Cafeteria, located at 125 Voss Parkway in Cedar Creek. The meetings will be held in an open house format with no formal presentation, so attendees can come and go at their convenience.

Proposed improvements include

  • Widening the roadway, where needed, to add east and westbound alternating passing lanes
  • Widening the roadway within Hays County to add 8-foot shoulders
  • Widening 28 existing culverts and one bridge

Maps, drawings and project information will be on display, and project team members will be available to answer questions.
