Bridge and approach railings will be upgraded this spring at two locations along I-30 in Northeast Texas according to plans approved in January by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

“We will be replacing and upgrading the bridge railing and guard rails on I-30 at Hayes Creek in Titus County and at Rain Creek in Bowie County,” said Bill Compton, Area Engineer for the TxDOT office in Mount Pleasant.

R & G Construction of Marshall, Texas, was awarded the contract for the construction project with a bid of $67,255.

Work on the project should begin in April and take about two months to complete, Compton said.
