When:

The virtual public meeting will be available on this web page starting at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, and will be available through Monday, Nov. 29, 2021.

The in-person option will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Jim Hogg County Courthouse, 102 E. Tilley Street, Hebbronville, TX 78361.

 

Purpose:

The purpose of the virtual public meeting with in-person option is to receive public comments on the proposed improvements for the SH 16 Rail Crossing from Tilley St. to Draper St. in Jim Hogg County, TX. Written comments must be received or postmarked by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, to be included in the official public meeting record.

The virtual public meeting will consist of a pre-recorded presentation and will be posted as a video link near the bottom of this web page at that time. Meeting materials will include display boards, exhibits and supporting documents. Following the virtual public meeting, all materials will remain available for viewing on this web page until at least 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021. If you do not have internet access, you may call Epigmenio Gonzalez at (956) 702-6127 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to ask questions and access project materials any time during the project development process. Comments may be provided by mail or email as described below.

Description:

TxDOT is evaluating potential safety and mobility improvements to SH 16 in Hebbronville, TX from Tilley St. to Draper St. by adjusting the grade differential at the Kansas City Southern railroad crossing.

For the virtual public meeting and in-person option, the public may provide comments in the following ways:

Comments must be received or postmarked by Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, to be included in the official public meeting record. TxDOT will provide written responses to individual comments in a timely manner following the virtual public meeting with in-person option. The virtual public meeting with in-person option summary report will be available online on this website once it has been prepared.

The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English and Spanish. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
