Notice Affording an Opportunity for Public Hearing - State Spur 54 from Chester Park Rd. to I-69 E

Purpose:

The City of Harlingen and Cameron County Regional Mobility Authority (CCRMA), in conjunction with TxDOT, is proposing to reconstruct and widen State Spur 54 from Chester Park Road to Interstate Highway 69 East (I-69 E) Southbound Frontage Road in Cameron County, Texas. Total project length is approximately 1.07 miles.

Description:

The proposed State Spur 54 project would reconstruct and widen the existing four lane divided rural roadway to a six-lane divided urban roadway, with a raised median. The proposed urban roadway would consist of:

  • Six 12-ft. wide travel lanes
  • Two 10-ft. wide outside shoulders
  • Two 4-ft. wide inside shoulders
  • A 5-ft wide sidewalk along the north side of the road
  • A 10-ft. wide walk/cycle path along the south side of the road
  • A 14-ft. landscaped raised median

All work would occur within existing ROW and additional ROW would not be required; therefore, no displacements or relocations of residences and businesses are necessary.
