Description

The proposed project would consist of the widening and reconstructing of SH 36 from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway. The proposed roadway would consist of four 11-foot lanes with an outside a give-foot bicycle lane. The bicycle lanes would be constructed on the roadway and would be offset from the travel lanes by two feet. A six-foot sidewalk would be constructed on both sides of SH 36. The roadway would include a 30-foot-wide raised median. In addition, the proposed project includes the construction of two detention ponds. The proposed right-of-way width would range from 150 feet to 187 feet. The proposed project would require approximately 25 acres of additional ROW and would be approximately 2.9 miles in length.

The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potentially displace four residences and structures on six non-residential properties.
