The purpose of the meeting is to present the planned improvements and solicit public comments on the proposed roadway improvements to FM 1387 from North Midlothian Parkway to Farm to Market (FM) 664 in Ellis County, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format with no formal presentation so the public may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions. Comments must be received on or before Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, to be a part of the official record.

Description:

The proposed project consists of the reconstruction and widening of approximately 5.2 miles of FM 1387 from North Midlothian Parkway to FM 664 in Midlothian, TX. The improvements would include the expansion of the current 2-lane rural roadway to a 6-lane urban roadway. The expansion would consist of one 12-foot wide travel lane, one 14-foot wide outside shared-use lane, 2-foot offsets and 5-feet sidewalks in both eastbound and west bound directions separated by a 16-foot wide raised median, The existing right-of-way (ROW) width varies with 80-90 feet nominal and will increase with the proposed project. The proposed project is anticipated to require approximately 52 acres of additional right-of-way to widen the roadway, based on this preliminary level of design.
