The virtual open house with in-person option dates and times are indicated below.

The pre-recorded presentation was posted on this page on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 5:30 p.m.

Additionally, TxDOT is providing an in-person open house option for individuals who would like to participate in person instead of online. The presentation, materials and exhibits will be the same as those presented at the in-person option. The in-person open house will be in a come and go format, and the study team members will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. The in-person option will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Odem Junior High School, One Owl Square, Odem, TX 78370

The purpose of the open house is to introduce the US 77 Odem Area Planning Study and start the conversation to bring US 77 in the Odem area up to interstate standards from Interstate 37 (I-37) to Farm-to-Market Road 1945 (FM 1945) near Sinton in San Patricio County. This study is part of TxDOT’s initial planning efforts to extend I-69E from Corpus Christi northward. The virtual and in-person open house will consist of the same narrated presentation by the project team, project exhibits and other information, and an opportunity to comment. Comments must be received on or before Friday, May 13, 2022, to be a part of the official meeting record.

The US 77 Odem Area Planning Study intends to:

  • Develop and screen alternatives
  • Upgrade US 77 to interstate standards
  • Determine which alternatives near the city of Odem should be advanced for further detailed schematic design and environmental study
  • Establish the purpose and need to bring US 77 up to interstate standards and to extend I-69E in the future
  • Describe the environmental setting
  • Assess the existing and future traffic conditions
  • Consider how best to minimize adverse impacts to environmental and community features
  • Engage stakeholders and the public throughout the project development process.
