Notice Affording Opportunity for a Public Hearing - US 69 from FM 421 to US 96

Purpose:

TxDOT is proposing improvements to US 69 from FM 421 to US 96 in Hardin County, Texas. This notice advises the public that TxDOT is affording an opportunity for a public hearing on the proposed project.

Description:

The proposed project will widen US 69 to a four-lane roadway with a continuous center left-turn lane. Each lane (two in each direction) will be 11-feet wide, the center turn-lane will be 12-feet wide, and the paved shoulders will be 1-foot wide. The proposed project would match the roadway section north of FM 421 and provide continuity in traffic operations from the US 69/US 96 split to just north of Walton Road. 

All work will occur entirely within existing right of way (ROW). No additional ROW or permanent/temporary easement is required; therefore, no displacements or relocations of residences and businesses are necessary.

Any interested member of the public may request a public hearing covering the social, economic and environmental effects of the proposed location and design for this project. Requests for a public hearing must be submitted in writing on or before July 3, 2018, to:

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
