The virtual public meeting presentation and materials will be posted at the bottom of this page at the date and time listed below.
Monday, May 9, 2022
TxDOT will be conducting a virtual public meeting for the proposed 2023-2026 Rural Transportation Improvement Program (Rural TIP) for the Atlanta District. The purpose of this meeting is to receive comments on the 2023-2026 Rural TIP for the Atlanta District. The Atlanta District includes Bowie, Camp, Cass, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Panola, Titus, and Upshur counties. A pre-recorded presentation and opportunity for comment will be available. Comments must be received on or before Thursday, May 19, 2022, to be considered part of this meeting.
The Rural TIP includes all regionally significant projects to be funded within a TxDOT District during the next four years, including those eligible for federal funding. As such, this meeting offers the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed priorities. A project in the Rural TIP is a project coming to your community. The Rural TIP is the first step on the road to producing a Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.
The Rural TIP meeting is being held pursuant to Title 43, Texas Administrative Code, Section 16.102, which calls for an opportunity for public comment concerning the program. A short pre-recorded presentation and exhibits showing how the Rural TIP operates and projects included in it will be displayed at the public meeting.
All community members are encouraged to attend the virtual public meeting and provide written comments on the proposed program. Comments must be postmarked or otherwise received by Thursday, May 19, 2022, to: TxDOT Atlanta District, Attn: Rural TIP; 701 E. Main St., Atlanta, TX 75551; or by email as described in the Notice.
The virtual public meeting will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to participate in the virtual public meeting, please contact Katie Martin, Atlanta District, at (903) 799-1342 no later than 4 p.m. CT, Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for the TxDOT to arrange.
