The United States Department of Transportation announced the availability of up to $526,944,000 for National Infrastructure Investments, referred to as the 2011 Transportation Infrastructure Generating Economic Recovery discretionary grants; also known as "TIGER III."
TxDOT as Lead Applicant
TIGER grants are for capital investments in surface transportation infrastructure and are to be awarded on a competitive basis for projects that will have a significant impact on the nation, a metropolitan area or a region. The USDOT has specified that lead applicants may submit no more than three applications for consideration. TxDOT's three applications as lead applicant are:
TxDOT with Multi-State Application
USDOT does not count multi-state applications toward the lead applicant limitation. TxDOT is the lead application on a multi-state application with the states of Kansas and Oklahoma for the following:
