Andrea Lofye serves as director of Federal Affairs.
Lofye joined the Texas Department of Transportation in 2010 and has led a number of department initiatives related to federal programs and grants, transportation research, the development of the Texas Transportation Commission's first public involvement policy, and implementation of federal surface transportation authorization legislation.
Prior to joining TxDOT, Lofye served as chief operating officer and chief of staff for a metropolitan transit authority. She managed a staff of more than 1,500 employees and directed the operations, maintenance, labor relations, safety and security activities for fixed route, paratransit, freight rail and commuter rail services. Additionally, she oversaw the Authority’s government relations strategy and initiatives.
Lofye worked on Capitol Hill for several years and served seven members of the U.S. Congress, including the chair of the U.S. Senate Transportation Appropriations subcommittee, the Senate Banking Committee, and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. She also worked for the Minnesota State Legislature as an aide to two members of the Minnesota Senate, and is a veteran of several political campaigns at the local and national levels.
Lofye earned a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Minnesota, a Master of Science from Sam Houston State University, and a Master of Business Administration at Angelo State University. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
