Tesla's Elon Musk To Headline 10th Annual Texas Transportation Forum Next Month

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Transportation today announced Tesla Motors Co-Founder and CEO Elon Musk will deliver the keynote address at the 10th Annual Texas Transportation Forum on
Jan. 15, 2015.

Musk, who has overseen product development and design for all of Tesla’s electric cars, also is the creative spark behind the development of rockets and spacecraft for SpaceX. He is truly an innovator who provokes necessary thoughts and execution that enhance multimodal transportation. To date, Musk’s work embodies the idea of transformation, which is the very theme of this year’s Texas Transportation Forum.

“The Forum has evolved into a world-class platform for transportation thought leadership over the past decade and we’re delighted to have Elon Musk be part of the conversation for the 10th Annual Texas Transportation Forum,” said Ted Houghton, Chairman of the Texas Transportation Commission. “In addition to Musk, we will hear from many other transportation leaders in an effort to drive necessary change in our transportation system.”

There is still time to register for the Texas Transportation Forum that will be held at the Hilton Austin Hotel January 14-16, 2015. All hotel reservations must be received by Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014 at 5 p.m. (CST). Reservations received after this date will be accepted on a space-available basis. Musk will be interviewed by Texas Tribune Editor-in-Chief and CEO Evan Smith and the interview will be live streamed at texastribune.org.
