Road Conditions Map Instructions

Browser Information

If you’re using a PC, you’ll need Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher. Firefox and Opera browsers are also supported. If you’re using a Mac, you’ll need either the Safari or Firefox browser. Firefox is recommended if you’re using the GNU/Linux platform. Turning off Internet pop-up blocker software will make viewing the site more successful.

During bad weather, when many conditions are posted on this site, you may notice that the site is slower. The condition information can still be viewed, but you may have to wait longer than usual to see it.

On this map, you’ll see highway conditions for only state-maintained highways. You can find information about conditions on city streets at the Metropolitan Closures link on this site.

Web Site Buttons

Zoom in to see the roads that have highway conditions. Click on the Zoom in button button, then click and hold the mouse button at a starting point on the map and drag the mouse to draw a box around the conditions you want to view. When you release the mouse button, the map zooms to the area you selected.

You can also select the Zoom in button button and just click on the map. The map will zoom in closer, at the point of the mouse click, and will continue to zoom in for each mouse click. You may have to click several times before you see all roads and other map details.

You’ll see all state-maintained roads and their signs when you zoom in to a scale of about 17 miles on the map. The scale is shown at the bottom of the map on the right.

Click on the Information button button to get details about a single highway condition. Once you click the button, click on the point or line representing the condition. A box will pop up with details about the condition.

Click on the Box selector button button, then click and hold the mouse button at a starting point on the map and drag the mouse to draw a box around several conditions to get details about many conditions in one area.

Click the Highway condition button button to search for highway conditions by road, condition type or both. In the Condition Filter window, choose the road type from the “Official name” drop-down list and enter the road number. (Choose only the road type if you want to see all conditions for, say, Interstate Highways.) You may also choose a type of condition from the “Filtered by” drop-down list, either alone or in addition to the road type and number. Click the Submit button to see the results.
