New Point of Sale Windshield Sticker Design |
These documents contain text of correspondence sent by
TxDOT to the county tax assessor-collectors, statutory agents who provide
vehicle registration and titling services for citizens in Texas. This
information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the
state’s vehicle titling and registration process.
PURPOSE
To provide you with specific information about the new windshield registration
sticker, instructions, inventory depletion and phased implementation.DETAILS
The new windshield sticker provides Texans with a high quality sticker while
improving features of the current sticker. Vehicle-specific information will
still print on the sticker to support law enforcement efforts to deter sticker
theft and fraud.
Sticker design changes include:
- Reduced sticker size to 2 1/2” x 4” (State Inspection sticker size)
- Reduced adhesive border width to 7/16” and colored it blue
- Added a white printable area with a centered “Texas” silhouette
- Colored the “Texas” silhouette with the flag design
- Repositioned the text and barcode
- Changed to the one-line TxDOT logo
- Added “Vehicle Registration” to differentiate from State Inspection sticker
- Added “Check the date, love your state.™” and
“www.texasinyourcorner.com” to the back of the sticker to promote
registration compliance campaign
Instruction changes include (Title and Registration receipt):
- Simplified and translated the instructions into Spanish
- Added language in English and Spanish to further clarify the term “VOID”
- Added labels under the stickers to identify them (Title and Registration
receipt)
- Removed the punch through tab on the Title and Registration receipt
- Simplified the sticker removal process
The new sticker will be implemented in three phases. A pilot has been set for
this month in Randall County with statewide implementation completed by early
2007. The phased approach will allow the department to deplete current inventory
prior to statewide implementation of the new design. This same method was used
when the department converted to the Point of Sale Sticker Printing program.
