TxDOT to the county tax assessor-collectors, statutory agents who provide
vehicle registration and titling services for citizens in Texas. This
information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the
state’s vehicle titling and registration process.
PURPOSE
To provide information regarding the functional and procedural
changes to RTS.
DETAILS
Updates to the RTS application covered in version 5.5.0
Release Notes include several enhancements that will improve
customer service, including full or partial implementation of
several legislative mandates from the last legislative session.
Enhancements include:
- Updated specialty plate and replacement fees for certain plate types
- Changes that will allow generation and processing of combined renewal
notices
- Ability to process orders and renewals for Dealer PLPs
- Ability to process specialty plate renewals in the Subcontractor Renewal
Event
- Ability to transfer existing Passenger or Truck license plates to a new
vehicle owned by the same owner and collect a “plate transfer” fee
(Plate-To-Owner)
- Ability to collect the new Delinquent Transfer Penalty increases
- Changes to the Void Transaction Event resulting in fewer keystrokes
- RSPS laptop updates
- Several defect resolutions and activity changes
Additional information and procedures are forthcoming for processing
Plate-to-Owner and Delinquent Transfer Penalty transactions.
