TxDOT to the county tax assessor-collectors, statutory agents who provide
vehicle registration and titling services for citizens in Texas. This
information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the
state’s vehicle titling and registration process.
PURPOSE
To provide information regarding the functional and procedural
changes to RTS accommodating the integration of specialty
plates.
DETAILS
Updates to the RTS application covered in version 5.4.0.1
Release Notes include:
- Virtual Inventory, a mechanism allowing VTR to maintain an electronic
list of plate numbers available for plate assignment and manufacture,
eliminating the need for county inventory stock of specialty plates.
- The addition of a Special Plates Event to enable specialty plate orders
and renewals. RTS changes include new RTS screens, new options on existing
screens, new and restructured receipts, reports and error messages.
- Internet Renewal of vehicles with specialty plates.
- A glossary of Helpful Hints concerning registration of specialty plates
at the county.
- Distribution of Account Item Codes showing a breakdown of each RTS item
code.
The attached release notes in conjunction with the Specialty
License Plate Reference Guide describe the functional and
procedural changes included in RTS version 5.4.0.1.
