TxDOT to the county tax assessor-collectors, statutory agents who provide
vehicle registration and titling services for citizens in Texas. This
information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the
state’s vehicle titling and registration process.
PURPOSE
To inform you of the provisions of House Bill 1781 (copy
attached), enacted by the
80th Legislature, Regular Session, 2007.
DETAILS
House Bill 1781, effective September 1, 2007, amends Texas
Transportation Code, Section 681.0031(b), by changing the
information recorded on disabled parking placards to include
county number. The following information is now required to be
recorded on disabled parking placards in this order:
- county number
- the first four digits of the applicant’s driver’s license or personal
identification number
- the applicant’s initials
We have revised the disabled parking placards to accommodate the required
information and will ship new inventory upon depletion of existing stock.
COUNTY ACTION
Please record required information accordingly in the block
designated for “DL.”
