Oregon Title Error |
Attachment
[pdf, 1 page, 12kb]These documents contain text of correspondence sent by
TxDOT to the county tax assessor-collectors, statutory agents who provide
vehicle registration and titling services for citizens in Texas. This
information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the
state’s vehicle titling and registration process.
PURPOSE
To advise of an error concerning some recently issued Oregon
titles.
DETAILS
Due to a vendor error, some Oregon titles have been issued that
indicate the word “VOID” on the original title document.
The control numbers for the affected titles are 9630001 through
9680001, and the Julian dates in the title numbers are 164
through 173. The Julian date is the 3rd, 4th, and 5th digits of
the title number.
COUNTY ACTION
If an Oregon title is presented to your office that indicates
the word VOID, please check the control number of the title
document and the Julian date. If it is determined that the
Oregon title is one of these affected documents, the title is
valid and should be accepted as valid evidence of ownership.
If the Oregon title cannot be identified as one of the affected
titles, then it should be treated as a photocopy and may not be
accepted as valid evidence of ownership.
CONTACT
If you have any questions or need any additional information,
please contact your local Vehicle Titles and Registration
Division Regional Office. In some cases the Registration and Title Bulletins (RTB) contain attachments. If you
require a copy of the original signed RTB and the attachments, please
e-mail us and include the RTB number.
Repeat requests are subject to charges in accordance with Open Record
