Attachment 1 [pdf,
1 page, 21kb]These documents contain text of correspondence sent by
TxDOT to the county tax assessor-collectors, statutory agents who provide
vehicle registration and titling services for citizens in Texas. This
information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the
state’s vehicle titling and registration process.
PURPOSE
This Registration and Title Bulletin (RTB)
supersedes RTB# 79-99 by providing updated
information on the process of preparing and
mailing titles, registration renewal notices,
and other correspondence.
DETAILS
The Vehicle Titles and Registration Division (VTR) invests $7
million annually in postage and contract services such as
folding, inserting, presorting, and other mail preparation
processes. This procedure delivers approximately 5.8 million
titles, 19.1 million registration renewal notices, and 400,000
other pieces of correspondence. In order to maximize our
investment in postage and services, we want to provide the
latest information on Address Hygiene.
VTR receives a substantial amount of returned mail for
various reasons. Some preventable errors are made at the time of
data entry while others are a result of receiving incorrect
information from customers.
COUNTY ACTION
Please assist our effort to deliver titles,
registration renewal notices, and other
correspondence to our customers in a timely and
efficient manner. Please review the attached
document on Address Hygiene and implement
procedures, if not already implemented, to
collect and enter correct mailing address
information.
