Registration and Title Bulletin #010-06

These documents contain text of correspondence sent by TxDOT to the county tax assessor-collectors, statutory agents who provide vehicle registration and titling services for citizens in Texas. This information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the state’s vehicle titling and registration process.

DETAILS
The form has been revised to clarify which certification box on the form must be completed, dependent on the type of vehicle and VIN.

The following revisions have been made to the form:

• Under the section "Die Stamping Instructions to Owner" the statement "Complete owner certification" has been added to "Reassigned Trailer Number and the Reassigned Travel Trailer Number" locations (4^th and 6^th boxes).

• The regional office certification now includes the text "Or Assigned Motorcycle Number (TEX)"

• The vehicle owner’s certification now reads "(Required For All Assigned Numbers and For Reassigned Numbers Issued For Trailers, Semitrailers, and Travel Trailers)."

COUNTY ACTION
Please ensure the proper certification of an assigned or reassigned VIN has been completed.
